Study tour “Challenges of Work Based Learning in Smart Cities” in Ülemiste City, Tallin
40 lecturers and students from eight educational institutions from six Nordic and Baltic countries in third week of October explored the innovative and renowned companies of Ülemiste City, talked to their key employees, participated in work-based learning workshops and made new contacts for the future. Faculty of Business Management of Vilniaus kolegija / University of Applied Sciences was represented by Head of Management Department, lecturer Lina Žirnelė, Head of Training and Partnership Development Division Katažyna Četyrkovska and students Vaida Urbaitė, Paulina Stačkūnaitė, Paulius Jogminas.
Visiting delegations had the opportunity to explore successful companies such as Magnetic MRO, Securitas Estonia, Tallinn Airport, Zone Media, Healthcard, Ülemiste Health Centre and the North Estonia Medical Centre. The study tour was organised in cooperation with Innove, Hansab, the North Estonia Medical Centre, the Aviation Cluster, G4S, the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences, Mainor Ülemiste and Technopolis Ülemiste.
Participants included: Oulu University of Applied Sciences, Tampere University of Applied Sciences, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Aalborg University, Vilniaus kolegija / University of Applied Sciences, Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences and the International School of Tallinn.

The networking took place as part of the “Building Educational Co-operation in Smart City” / Nordplus Horizontal project. It was the third study tour of the project. Partners will meet last time in the beginning of December 2019, where during the closing seminar they will discuss project results and opportunities for future cooperation.
