Career Prospects
Graduates can work as early childhood and pre-primary teachers in state and private child care and education settings, foster care homes for babies and children, child social care homes, informal education centers, etc.
Learning Outcomes
You will be able to:
- Relate various aspects of early childhood education: philosophical, pedagogical, psychological, sociological, intercultural, and managerial.
- Analyze peculiarities of early childhood, pre-primary and primary education’s consistency.
- Define child’s (from 0 to 7 years old) development peculiarities, methods of his/her needs recognition, peculiarity of education process and its management, importance and strategies of reflection, the factors determining quality; apply acquired knowledge in various environments;
- Reflect on the educational content, penetrate problems of pedagogical praxis, and solve those problems by conducting research and using its results for improvement of professional activity; discover and apply methodological innovations, make evidence based decisions;
- Create professional text by applying modern information collecting, storing, analysis, organization, and visualization methods.
- Respect child’s individuality, recognize and consider individual differences (age, experience, gender, language, social background, talents, special educational needs, learning styles and etc.) of children (from 0 to 7 years old); help children to overcome learning difficulties, direct parents (foster parents) for consultation and provide pedagogical assistance; collaborate with other educational support professionals.
- Anticipate and implement child (from 0 to 7 years old) oriented educational aims and tasks, plan and assess achievements of a child, apply learning by playing, learning by action, and experiential learning methods; create and develop integral educational content; ensure active parental involvement into child’s achievement planning and assessment, creation of educational content, organization of education, create open, tolerant, dialogue and partnership based educational environment.
- Participate in creation of early childhood curriculum, analyze, interpret and adapt it according to education context, child’s (from 0 to 7 years old) needs, and education regulatory documents.
- Constructively collaborate and partner with other educational process participants and professionals, work in a group and/or a team, participate in projects, professional networks, society education and change processes.
- Communicate in written and spoken National language, represent the opinion, idea or decision clearly and reasonably; use a foreign language for academic and professional purposes.
- Follow common human, democratic, ethnic values, socially responsible citizenship attitudes, and professional ethics.
- Reflect own activity, identify and solve professional problems, choose learning strategies, project perspectives of professional development.
