At the beginning of May the Rector of Vilniaus kolegija/University of Applied Sciences, dr. Gintautas Bražiūnas, together with the Dean of the Faculty of Electronics and Informatics, dr. Romanas Tumasonis, participated at the ERASMUS+ contact seminar, organised by the Education Exchanges Support Foundation (Lithuania) and Lithuanian Embassy in China. The seminar was attended by the Lithuanian and Chinese higher education institutions willing to extend existing cooperation and establish new contacts.
During the seminar, dr. G. Bražiūnas and dr. R. Tumasonis met with the delegation of Qingdao Binhai University. During the meeting the Memorandum of Understanding with Qingdao Binhai University was signed. First two students from this university will start their exchange year at Vilniaus kolegija starting with Autumn of 2016.
Two more agreements with two other Chinese universities were discussed during the seminar.
On the 10th of May dr. G. Bražiūnas and dr. R. Tumasonis visited Chang’an University. The President of Chang’an Uiversity prof. dr. Ma Jian welcomed dr. G. Bražiūnas and dr. R. Tumasonis in the Guest Hall of the Academic Centre. The Vice-President, deans and representatives of the Chang’an university also participated in the meeting, where further cooperation issues were discussed. Vilniaus kolegija and Chang’an University signed Cooperation Agreement in 2015, when the delegation of Chang’an University visited Vilniaus kolegija. Dr. G. Bražiūnas and Dr. R. Tumasonis also visited scientific laboratories of Chang’an University.
Chang’an University is located in the capital city of Xian province with 8,5 million inhabitants. The province of Xian is world famous for its historical and architectural monuments and Xian used to be Chinese capital city for many centuries.
The cooperation with Chinese higher education institutions is one of the priorities not only for Vilniaus kolegija, but also for all Lithuania, as China is one of the most dynamic developing countries in the world.
