THE COMPETITION FOR ERASMUS+ STUDENT MOBILITY FOR STUDIES TAKES PLACE*:
- For the next Autumn semester – in February (day 1 to 28/29).
- For the next Spring semester – in September (day 1 to 30).
* Exception: the competition period for the Faculty of Health Care is one week shorter.
All students are eligible to participate in the competition.
Studies in the foreign higher education institution can continue from 2 to 12 months. This period can be divided into several shorter ones, unless the shortest one is no less than 3 months.
Virtual and physical mobility can be blended, with a minimum period of physical mobility of 2 months. In this case it is recommended to start with a period of virtual mobility and continue with physical studies at a foreign HEI. The grant is calculated for the physical period only, unless the student participates in online studies after s/he leaves to the country of the host institution.
Erasmus+ studies is an opportunity for those who:
- Have good academic achievements (no debts),
- Are willing to get international experience,
- Are willing to learn new subjects,
- Are willing to experience new studying ways,
- Are willing to improve their foreign language skills,
- Are willing to get to know new countries and cultures,
- Are willing to find friends from all over the world!

If you are willing to take part in Erasmus+ student mobility study competition, please fill in the Erasmus application.
Please note that applications are accepted until 00:00 of the last day of the competition. You can fill in the application only by using your VIKO e-mail.
The selection of candidates for Erasmus+ student mobility for studies is carried out in different faculties by Erasmus+ programme Selection Board, assigned by the dean of each faculty. The selection procedure has to be finalised in a week after the end of the competition. Students can be invited for an interview – please check the information!
- Academic results of your previous studies;
- Good command of a foreign language(s);
- Selected study programme of the host higher education institution;
- Motivation;
- Problem solving skills;
- Priority is given to the students who participate in Vilniaus Kolegija/ University of Applied Sciences mentorship activities.
Steps after winning the competition
Preparation for ERASMUS+ studies abroad includes some paper work. You will be instructed in detail by Erasmus students mobility coordinator – please check the information!
Documents and tasks before going abroad
- Application for a foreign HEI – usually can be downloaded from host HEI’s website;
- Learning Agreement for Studies– to be signed by the student, Vilniaus Kolegija/ University of Applied Sciences and host HEI responsible persons;
- Invitation Letter from the host HEI;
- The European Health Insurance Card (copy) – applicable for students of EU countries. More information. Other students have to take private insurance.
- Language test – login information will be sent during the preparation stage by your coordinator. More information: https://academy.europa.eu/
- Grant Agreement – prepared by your coordinator after all initial documents are ready.

Additional Support:
- Students from socially disadvantaged groups can receive 200 EUR/month extra or their subsistence.
- Students with special needs (illness, etc.), can apply for the additional support to the Education Exchanges Support Foundation (Information here).
- Students with fewer opportunities* in 2021 and later projects can apply for additional support as stated in the Order for Financing Students with Fewer Opportunities, approved by the Rector.
*At VIKO the following 7 groups of students with fewer opportunities have been identified: disabled or with health disorders (extra financing through National Agency); from families belonging to underrepresented groups or living alone and possessing the right to social monetary support under the laws of the Republic of Lithuania; younger than 25 years of age, having been under care and custody till their adulthood or orphans; with the level of work capacity of 80% or less; having children under 14 years of age; refugees; possessing residence permit for the Republic of Lithuania due to humanitarian reasons. In all cases supporting documents need to be presented.
Erasmus+ grant for studies abroad is calculated multiplying the number of months by the fixed amount per month for a particular country. The grant calculation for extra days of another month is carried out by multiplying the number of the days by 1/30 of the fixed amount per month.
Erasmus+ grant is paid in two parts:
- 80% of the grant is transferred before the beginning of your Erasmus+ studies;
- 20% of the grant is transferred after the completion of your Erasmus+ studies, having presented all the necessary documents (see below) and completed all the necessary surveys and tests.
Documents and tasks during your studies
If you wish to change your Learning Agreement (one or more subjects) during your studies, you should inform your Erasmus coordinator. In case your application is approved, you will need to complete:
- Changes of the Learning Agreement– to be signed by the student, Vilniaus Kolegija/ University of Applied Sciences and host HEI responsible persons;
After returning from your studies abroad, you have to present:
- Transcript of Records
- Certificate with your mobility start/ end dates.
The following are to be completed at the end/ after your studies abroad:
- On-line EU Survey – in 30 days after receiving the invitation by e-mail.
- OLS language test – at the end of your studies abroad.
- A report about your Erasmus experience.

THE COMPETITION FOR ERASMUS+ RECENT GRADUATE STUDENT MOBILITY FOR INTERNSHIP TAKES PLACE:
- In December (day 1 to day 23).
- In May (day 1 to day 30).
All students are eligible to participate in the competition.
Internship in the foreign enterprises can continue from 2 to 12 months. This period can be divided into several shorter ones, unless the shortest one is no less than 2 months.

- Learning Agreement for Traineeships /Learning Agreement for Recent Graduates – to be signed by the student, Vilniaus Kolegija/ University of Applied Sciences and host enterprise responsible persons;
- Copies of Health, Liability, and Accident insurance. For health insurance basic coverage is provided by the European Health Insurance Card applicable for students of EU countries; other students have to take private insurance. However, the coverage of the European Health Insurance Card may not be sufficient, especially in case of repatriation and specific medical intervention. In that case, a complementary private insurance might be useful. More information.
- Language test – login information will be sent during the preparation stage by your coordinator. More information: https://academy.europa.eu/
- Grant Agreement – prepared by your coordinator after all initial documents are ready.

After returning from your internship abroad, you have to present:
- After the Mobility section of your Learning Agreement for Traineeships with your mobility start/ end dates.
The following are to be completed:
- Online EU Survey – in 30 days after receiving the invitation by e-mail.
- OLS language test – at the end of your internship abroad.
- A report about your Erasmus experience.
