On April 3, 2025, the first meeting took place between Vilniaus kolegija, a member of the European University Alliance HEROES, and the Alliance’s associated social partners.

Representatives from VIKO’s strategic institutional partners – Knowledge Economy Forum, the Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, Lithuanian student alliance and the Lithuanian Employment Service -together with the HEROES working group of VIKO, discussed the current needs for labor market competencies in Lithuania and Europe, aiming to strengthen societal, business, and environmental regional resilience.

During the panel discussion, participants examined the impact of unique competencies on regional development such as innovation development and the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances. It became evident that in order to achieve meaningful changes in Lithuania’s innovation and R&D ecosystem, international, inter-institutional, and interdisciplinary collaboration is crucial. Such cooperation brings together diverse experiences and areas of influence. Key joint activities within the HEROES framework were also discussed, and agreements were made regarding future meetings.
