Ramunė Vanagaitė, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Agrotechnology, participated in the AgriFood Lithuania DIH forum “European Agrifood Ecosystem”

Ramunė Vanagaitė, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Agrotechnology at Vilnius University of Applied Sciences (Vilnius College), participated in the forum “European Agrifood Ecosystem”, the organizers of which are AgriFood Lithuania DIH and AgriFood Ecosystem Navigator. During the forum, direct mergers took place from Berlin, Istanbul, Barcelona and Vilnius.

Kristina Šermukšnytė Alešiūnienė, Director of AgriFood Lithuania DIH, presented the situation in the Lithuanian agrifood sector: What does the agrofood sector ecosystem look like in Lithuania, Germany, Spain and Turkey? What can we learn from each other? What challenges are we facing? How to encourage greater cooperation between the actors in the sector for a more sustainable, fair and smarter agriculture? This was followed by a discussion “Women in Business: Challenges and Opportunities”, which was attended by Ramunė Vanagaitė, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Agrotechnology at Vilnius University of Applied Sciences (Vilnius College), Vaiva Kubilaitė, Head of Business Development at UAB “Baltic Amadeus”, Daiva Keršienė, Head of the Innovation Development and International Cooperation Department of VšĮ “Innovation Agency”, the discussion was moderated by Arūnas Milašius, editor of DELFI Agro.

For the first time in the European Union, the Digital Innovation Centre AgriFood Lithuania DIH is organizing an international hackathon called “HACK Startup Village”, which was prompted by the European Commission’s Startup Village initiative. Maryia Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Education, Youth and Culture, is the official guardian of the hackathon. She will also attend the opening of this event.

The hackathon will be held remotely on October 21-23.
