Teachers‘ journey to the Poster Biennial in Warsaw
On October 2-4, a group of teachers of the Graphic Design study program of the Faculty of Art and Design went to the Warsaw Poster Biennial – the largest event of this art genre in Eastern Europe. This year, the Biennial was held in the central building of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (ASP WAW), located in the historic city center.
During a meeting with the Vice-Rector of the Academy, Dr. Magdalena Boffito, the issues of the development of contemporary art and possible cooperation between higher education institutions were discussed.
A rich and very detailed tour around the Bienniale exposition was organized for the guests by Justyna Czerniakovska, a lecturer of the Faculty of Graphics, a member of the Biennale organizing committee.
The teachers also visited the Sculptural Ceramics Triennial exposition in the new building of the ASP Faculty of Sculpture and the newly opened Museum of Contemporary Art. It is hard to believe that all these exhibitions were visited in one day!
Although very tired, the lecturers returned to Vilnius full of new creative inspirations and determination to share their impressions with their colleagues and students of the Faculty of Arts and Design.
