VIKO Faculty of Technics representatives’ visit to Afyon Kocatepe University

From 4 to 8 May, Dean of the Faculty of Technics of Vilniaus kolegija / Higher Education Institutio , Gražina Strazdienė, together with lecturers Brigita Šustickienė and Jolanta Pileckienė, participated in an intensive Erasmus+ International Staff Week at Afyon Kocatepe University.

The 12th Erasmus International Staff Week, entitled Empowering Sustainability in Erasmus, focused on strengthening sustainability within the Erasmus programme and brought together representatives from more than 30 universities across Europe and other regions of the world.

The event was attended by academics and international relations specialists from Lithuania, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Romania, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Lebanon, Ghana, Colombia, Madagascar, Albania, Algeria, Russia, and other countries. During the international week, the Faculty of Technics team presented the study fields of Vilniaus kolegija / Higher Education Institutio, its international activities, Erasmus+ mobility opportunities, and ongoing projects. The presentation actively promoted the study programmes of the Faculty of Technics and addressed opportunities for international cooperation, academic exchange, and the initiation of joint projects.

During the visit, the Faculty of Technics team was warmly welcomed by the community of Afyon Kocatepe University Technology Faculty. The faculty representatives also took part in an international event – the International Academia–Industry Cooperation Meeting (Uluslararası Akademi – Sanayi İş Birliği Buluşması), which brought together representatives of the academic community and the business sector. Discussions during the event focused on international projects, innovation, technological development, and strengthening cooperation between universities and industry.

As part of the programme, the Faculty of Technics team delivered a targeted presentation and participated in discussions with students, academic staff, and social partners. More than 200 students, lecturers, and administrative staff took part in the meetings and presentations. New academic contacts were established during the international week, future partnerships were discussed, and opportunities for the development of international projects were explored.

In addition to academic activities, participants were offered a rich cultural programme, providing an opportunity to become acquainted with the historical and cultural heritage of Afyonkarahisar, traditional Turkish culture, local crafts, and regional gastronomy. The cultural activities promoted intercultural dialogue, international cooperation, and closer ties between university communities from different countries.
