VIKO student João Pedro Oliveira feedback about Erasmus experience
“With the Erasmus experience in Vilnius coming to an end, it is time to make a summary of some personal thoughts and initiatives I had the pleasure to take part in.
Beyond everything, the experience of living abroad for one semester, along with the assimilation of a different European culture, provided me with some insights on the reality that we are used to live on. As in the Business world, in life not everything is black or white. We serve ourselves with a wide range of possibilities, explanations, lines of work and thought. I believe, as a means of inciting critical thinking, this should be applied everywhere else, including businesses.
Furthermore, this experience also helped me develop my communication skills, flexible perspective of countless areas, situations and organization, not only regarding my professional life, but also my personal life.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to present the project Blue Strings on the conference “Youth in a changing society”, together with my colleagues Beatriz Mendonça, Gonçalo Ferreira and Rafael Gonçalves, and would like to give a special thanks to professor Flavius STREIANU for the mentorship.
I would also like to thank Vilniaus Kolegija/University of Applied Sciences for providing the students with interesting and engaging events, such as the Creativity Camp, a bootcamp event composed by brainstorming sessions and intercultural socializing with other colleagues, and the opportunity to visit the Gamybos inovacijų slėnis / Manufacturing Innovation Valley and understand the current situation of entrepreneurship and business incubators in Vilnius.
A huge thank you to all my creative colleagues for the fantastic experience!” – VIKO student João Pedro Oliveira.
