VIKO welcomed new international students during orientation week
A new academic year, new faces and new international experiences at VIKO!
Last week, around 70 exchange and full-time international students joined the Vilniaus kolegija / Higher Education Institution community and kicked off their journey in Vilnius. The Orientation Week gave them a chance to get familiar with their Faculties, meet the people who will support them throughout their studies and, of course, get to know their fellow students.
During the week, students met their Faculty Coordinators and VIKO administration, learned more about our study processes, services and systems, and received useful tips to help them settle into student life in Lithuania. They also learned more about HEROES – a European University Alliance and the opportunities it offers, while various games and activities helped everyone break the ice and start building new connections from day one.
The week was also a chance to discover Lithuania beyond the campus. Students explored the Old Town of Vilnius, tasted traditional Lithuanian dishes and visited the historic Trakai Castle.
And for those looking for a little more adventure, 16 students braved the rain at the end of the week and took part in the already traditional Vilnius “Regata” kayaking competition!
We are happy to have you with us and wish all our international students an exciting, memorable and successful academic year at VIKO!
