Vilniaus Kolegija Initiates Cooperation with Israeli HEIs

May 4-7, 2015 dr. Gintautas Bražiūnas, Rector of Vilniaus kolegija, and Jolanta Preidienė, Head of International Office, together with the delegation of the representatives of Lithuanian Higher Education Institutions, visited Israel. The main aim of this visit was to participate in the international conference “Promoting Cooperation between Lithuanian and Israeli Higher Education Institutions”. This conference was organised by Education Exchanges Support Foundation from Lithuania and the National Erasmus+ Office Israel in order to promote cooperation between the HEIs of two countries. During the conference participants had the opportunity to exchange information and experiences on university student and staff mobility, joint study programs, cooperation projects, get to know suitable partner institutions, receive more information on the EU Erasmus+ programme.

Besides the conference, Lithuanian delegation visited the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the State of Israel, where meeting with the Minister Counsellor Ramūnas Davidonis, Counsellor Antanas Baltušis and Cultural Attaché Saulius Pilinkus was organised.

One more important part of this visit – meetings with Israeli Higher Education Institutions. Dr. G. Bražiūnas ir J. Preidienė visited Kinneret Academic College situated in the northern part of Israel. During the meeting with President Prof. Shimon Gepstein, Dean of School of Social Sciences and Humanities Prof. Dr. Sibylle Heilbrunn, Head of Software Engineering Department Prof. Amir Tomer and Head of Tourism department Dr. Alon Gelbman concrete steps of future cooperation were discussed.
