Vilniaus kolegija / University of Applied Sciences (VIKO) was given the right to carry out the academic recognition of foreign qualifications

The Minister of Education, Science and Sports supported the Commission’s proposal to grant VIKO the right to carry out the academic recognition of education and qualifications related to higher education and acquired in accordance with the educational programs of foreign states and international organizations.

Academic recognition refers to determining the academic value of a qualification, i.e. it determines whether the foreign qualification, in principle, meets general academic requirements for a similar qualification in Lithuania.

From now VIKO will carry out the academic recognition of foreign qualifications, therefore all foreign applicants will be able to arrange the application documents more conveniently and faster.

At VIKO the academic recognition of foreign qualifications granting the right to higher education (secondary education qualifications) will be carried out by the Study Office.
