Insurance

All international students are supposed to have medical insurance valid in Lithuania for the study period.

Students from EU countries are required to have European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) confirming that a student has EU health insurance is valid in Lithuania.

• Students with this insurance are guaranteed Lithuanian health care services in the case of an accident;
• The card does not cover the expenses of health care services provided by the private sector.

Students from non-EU countries are required to obtain their health insurance in their country of residence.

• Students from non-EU countries applying for visa have to prove to the embassy that they have a valid health insurance;
• Students from non-EU countries applying for the temporary residence permit (TRP) in Lithuania have to prove to the migration office that they have a valid health insurance.
