THE COMPETITION FOR ERASMUS+ STUDENT MOBILITY FOR STUDIES TAKES PLACE*:
- For the next Autumn semester – in February (day 1 to 28/29).
- For the next Spring semester – in September (day 1 to 23).
The competition for Erasmus+ studies is open to students who have completed at least one first-cycle course before the start of their planned studies abroad (this restriction does not apply to Erasmus+ internships and BIP – see info below).
Studies in the foreign higher education institution can continue from 2 to 12 months. This period can be divided into several shorter ones, unless the shortest one is no less than 3 months.
Virtual and physical mobility can be blended, with a minimum period of physical mobility of 2 months. In this case it is recommended to start with a period of virtual mobility and continue with physical studies at a foreign HEI. The grant is calculated for the physical period only, unless the student participates in online studies after s/he leaves to the country of the host institution.
Erasmus+ studies is an opportunity for those who:
- Have good academic achievements (no debts),
- Are willing to get international experience,
- Are willing to learn new subjects,
- Are willing to experience new studying ways,
- Are willing to improve their foreign language skills,
- Are willing to get to know new countries and cultures,
- Are willing to find friends from all over the world!

If you are willing to take part in Erasmus+ student mobility study competition, please fill in the Erasmus application.
Please note that applications are accepted until 00:00 of the last day of the competition. You can fill in the application only by using your VIKO e-mail.
The selection of candidates for Erasmus+ student mobility for studies is carried out in different faculties by Erasmus+ programme Selection Board, assigned by the dean of each faculty. The selection procedure has to be finalised in a week after the end of the competition. Students can be invited for an interview – please check the information!
- Academic results of your previous studies;
- Good command of a foreign language(s);
- Selected study programme of the host higher education institution;
- Motivation;
- Problem solving skills;
- Priority is given to the students who participate in Vilniaus Kolegija/ University of Applied Sciences mentorship activities.
Appeals
Students who believe that the Selection Committee may have committed procedural violations during the selection process have the right to submit an appeal within 2 working days of the publication of the selection results.
Appeals must be submitted in writing to the Chair of the Appeals Committee.
Appeals Committee meetings are held no later than 3 working days after the student has submitted the appeal.
Steps after winning the competition
Preparation for ERASMUS+ studies abroad includes some paper work. You will be instructed in detail by Erasmus students mobility coordinator – please check the information!
Documents and tasks before going abroad
- Application for a foreign HEI – usually can be downloaded from host HEI’s website;
- Learning Agreement for Studies – to be signed by the student, Vilniaus Kolegija/ University of Applied Sciences and host HEI responsible persons;
- Invitation Letter from the host HEI;
- The European Health Insurance Card (copy) – applicable for students of EU countries. More information. Other students have to take private insurance.
- Language test – login information will be sent during the preparation stage by your coordinator. More information: https://academy.europa.eu/
- Travel tickets
- Grant Agreement – prepared by your coordinator after all initial documents are ready.

Green travel means travelling by bus, train, bicycle, or boat for more than half of the total journey to and from the mobility destination. Travel by boat must be combined with other low-emission means of transport.
Additional Support:
- Students from socially disadvantaged groups can receive 250 EUR/month extra or their subsistence.
- Students with special needs (due to illness or disability) may apply for additional financial support. Erasmus+ grant for studies abroad is calculated multiplying the number of months by the fixed amount per month for a particular country. The grant calculation for extra days of another month is carried out by multiplying the number of the days by 1/30 of the fixed amount per month.
Erasmus+ grant is paid in two parts:
- 80% of the grant is transferred before the beginning of your Erasmus+ studies;
- 20% of the grant is transferred after the completion of your Erasmus+ studies, having presented all the necessary documents (see below) and completed all the necessary surveys and tests.
Students who disagree with the assessment of the submitted documents or the decision regarding their eligibility have the right to submit an appeal no later than two working days from the date the decision is announced. Appeals must be submitted in writing to the Chair of the Appeals Committee. The meeting of the Appeals Committee shall take place no later than three working days from the date the appeal is submitted. Students who believe that procedural violations may have occurred may submit an appeal in accordance with the general appeals procedure see Appeals Procedure.
Documents and tasks during your studies
If you wish to change your Learning Agreement (one or more subjects) during your studies, you should inform your Erasmus coordinator. In case your application is approved, you will need to complete:
- Changes of the Learning Agreement– to be signed by the student, Vilniaus Kolegija/ University of Applied Sciences and host HEI responsible persons;
After returning from your studies abroad, you have to present:
- Transcript of Records
- Certificate with your mobility start/ end dates.
The following are to be completed at the end/ after your studies abroad:
- On-line EU Survey – in 30 days after receiving the invitation by e-mail.
- OLS language test – at the end of your studies abroad.
- A report about your Erasmus experience.

- Copies of Health, Liability, and Accident insurance. For health insurance basic coverage is provided by the European Health Insurance Card applicable for students of EU countries; other students have to take private insurance. However, the coverage of the European Health Insurance Card may not be sufficient, especially in case of repatriation and specific medical intervention. In that case, a complementary private insurance might be useful. More information.
- Language test – login information will be sent during the preparation stage by your coordinator. More information: https://academy.europa.eu/

Long-term student mobility for traineeship purposes to EU Member States, third countries associated with the Programme, and third countries not associated with the Programme from Regions 13 and 14: in addition to the basic amount of individual support, an additional EUR 150 per month is provided. Students and recent graduates with fewer opportunities who participate in traineeships receive both the additional amount for participants with fewer opportunities and the additional amount allocated for traineeships.

We invite the students of Vilniaus kolegija to take part in ERASMUS+ student exchange competition, where the winners will have the possibility to study within BIP program in foreign higher education institutions or carry out internship in foreign companies.

Erasmus+ call for BIP programs is open throughout the academic year.
Who can participate?
Any student can take part in the competition.
The physical BIP mobility of the studies or internship in the foreign institution within Erasmus+ program can last 5 – 30 days. Virtual mobility can last up to 1 semester.
The grant is paid only for the physical mobility period (during virtual mobililty the grant is not paid).
This opportunity is for you if:

Competition
The selection of the candidates is carried out in the faculties by Erasmus+ program Selection Committee, assigned by the dean of each faculty. The students might be invited to the interview with the Selection Committee – please follow the information!

During the meetings of the Selection Committee the competitive ranking is formed of those who want to participate in the mobility. The results of the competitions are made public.
Documents and tasks before going abroad
- Agreement for BIP studies – Online Learning Agreement is signed through the system: https://learning-agreement.eu/ (if the host institution is not using this system, you need to fill in this Learning Agreement). The document is signed by the student, authorized person from Vilniaus kolegija and authorized person from the host higher education institution.
- Agreement for BIP internship. The document is signed by the student, authorized person from Vilniaus kolegija and authorized person from the foreign company.
- European Health insurance Card – for students who travel to EU countries. More information. For students who travel outside of EU, they need to acquire private health insurance.
- Students have to fill in this form BIP mobility documents of the student and upload all necessary documents.
- Financial agreement – it is prepared by the International Relations Department. You will be invited to sign it when all preparatory tasks are being done.
About the grant
- Students are paid 79 EUR for each mobility day, including travel days (up to the 14th activity days – 79 EUR for a day, and starting from the 15th up to the 30th activity day – 56 EUR for each mobility day) + travel expenses are being covered according to the distance from Vilnius to the host institution:

Additional support
- Students with fewer opportunities may receive additional support in accordance with The Regulations of the Procedures for the Administration and Financial Management of Erasmus+ Mobility Projects for Students with Fewer Opportunities at Vilniaus kolegija. The students with fewer opportunities receive additional 100 EUR, when physical BIP mobility lasts 5-14 days, or 150 EUR when physical BIP mobility lasts 15-30 days. The student who wishes to receive additional support must (no longer than 5 working days before the start of the physical mobility) provide, with all other necessary documents, the certificate which proves that he/she belongs to a certain group of students with fewer opportunities.
- Students with special needs (physical, intellectual or other disability) can receive additional financial support. The student needs to inform the mobility coordinator (no later than 1 month before the start of the physical mobility) and with his help fill in the required documents.
- Students who think that there might be done any procedural breaches can make an appeal (see here).

After the mobility
After returning from the BIP mobility abroad the student has to present to the International Relations Department the Certificate of Attendance, which indicates: the factual physical and virtual mobility dates, ECTS credits and student’s assessment.
Also:
- The student needs to fill in the online EU Survey. The survey needs to be filled in no later than 30 days after receiving the invitation with the link.
